Snow, wind and ice making travel hazardous in Northcentral Montana Lee Vernoy, Great Falls Tribune © RION SANDERS/GREAT FALLS TRIBUNE A light snow falls in Great Falls on Friday afternoon with the city expected to get 6 to 12 inches through Sunday. (THIS STORY WILL BE UPDATED AS CONDITIONS WARRANT.) Better put another log on the fire. Mother Nature is not going to be kind to us this week. The snowfall generated by this weekend s winter storm has made driving anywhere around Big Sky Country less than ideal at best; foolhardy at the worst. Snow depths ranged from none in Missoula to a maximum of 34 inches at West Yellowstone by 5 p.m. Saturday. These was four inches on the ground at Great Falls International Airport, five inches in Havre, three at Helena, 10 at Logan International Airport in Billings and 11 inches in Big Timber.
