Curragh preview: McCreery hoping ground eases for Lustown Baba
Tue 1 Jun 2021
Willie McCreery is praying for rain for
Lustown Baba ahead of her bid for a third Curragh success in Wednesdayâs Qatar Racing And Equestrian Club Ballyogan Stakes.
The four-year-old bolted up in handicap company at the track in October before following up in the Listed Testimonial Stakes just four days later.
Lustown Baba ran her best race of the season so far when a narrow second to Snapraeterea in the Owenstown Stud Stakes at Naas on her latest outing and her trainer is hopeful of another bold showing â provided the ground is suitable.

Our horse racing picks today come from Nottingham, Cartmel and the Curragh
There are seven race meetings across the UK and Ireland on Wednesday â five Flat and two National Hunt.
The stalls open first at Nottingham (1.00-4.15pm), with Ayr (1.13-4.25) providing the afternoonâs other Flat card. The two jumps meetings come from Wexford (1.05-4.50) and Cartmel (1.20-4.40), and in the evening itâs Flat racing all the way from Kempton (4.35-8.50), on the all-weather, with the Curragh (4.30-8.10) and Ripon (5.50-9.00) staging turf cards.
Wednesdayâs nap is expected to leave behind a poor run in the mud at Wetherby three weeks and instead confirm the promise of Aprilâs win at that same venue back on decent ground.Â
