The prestigious distinction recognizes the cancer center’s high caliber of scientific leadership and robust programs in basic, clinical, and population science research, placing it in the top echelon of cancer centers nationwide.

Maryland Half Marathon running virtually next weekend

Print Robert Lang, WBAL NewsRadio 1090 and FM 101.5 For the second year in a row the Maryland Half Marathon benefiting the Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Maryland will be a virtual race. Dr. Kevin Cullen, the center s director says the race is a major fundraiser for the center and has raised more than $4 million. Cullen says participants can choose to run a half marathon or a 5-kilometer race any time between this Saturday and next Monday. Cullen says money raised from the race helps fund the cancer center s research including a new treatment for pancreatic cancer. Cullen says the fundraising goal for the race is $500,000.
