For the second year in a row the Maryland Half Marathon benefiting the Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Maryland will be a virtual race.
Dr. Kevin Cullen, the center s director says the race is a major fundraiser for the center and has raised more than $4 million.
Cullen says participants can choose to run a half marathon or a 5-kilometer race any time between this Saturday and next Monday.
Cullen says money raised from the race helps fund the cancer center s research including a new treatment for pancreatic cancer.
Cullen says the fundraising goal for the race is $500,000.
