Often described as a one-stop-shop for victims of abuse, the Greene County Family Justice Center opened its doors in October of 2018.
Initially housed on the second floor of the Greene County Courthouse, the center in 2020 moved into its permanent home at 1418 E. Pythian St., in the former Tefft school building.
It is the 25th affiliated Family Justice Center in the country.
Walk-ins anyone experiencing any kind of abuse are welcome 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
All services are free, and there s no limit to the number of times a person can seek help or information.
The center is staffed by a wide array of public and nonprofit agencies, with representatives from law enforcement, the prosecutor s office, state children s division, legal services and advocates from The Victim Center and Harmony House all in one safe location.
