While COVID may have dampened travel plans to tropical beaches, those who are looking to get away can now purchase their own private island here in Connecticut.
Caritas Island, also known as Greenaway Island, is part of the private waterfront compound of Wallacks Point in Stamford. The property was recently listed for $14.5M.
Since the estate s inception in 1909, Caritas Island has only seen three owners - most notably John A. Morgan, great-grandson of the famous banker J.P. Morgan and great, great-grandson of former U.S. President John Quincy Adams. A founding member of the Communist Party of America also has resided at the estate.
