Those purchasing a property with an SAP rating of 92 or above will get £500, while those with a score from 86 to 91 will receive £250.
You must fill out the EPC document, which is on the Government’s online register, within two weeks of your mortgage completing.
NatWest also offers a ‘green mortgage’ for properties with an EPC rating of A or B. A two-year fix is available at 1.13 per cent for those with a 40 per cent deposit.
Fees are £995 with £250 cashback. Based on a £150,000 mortgage, Defaqto calculates this would cost £577.99 a month.

Nationwide launches cashback offer for energy efficient homes

Nationwide will now give a ‘green reward’ in the form of cashback for people buying energy efficient property.
Specifically, borrowers who secure a house with an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating of A or a Standard Assessment Procedure (SAP) of 92 or above with receive £500 and, for properties at EPC B or SAP 86, £250.
This cashback comes in addition to any existing cashback offer on a mortgage.
The lender adds that it the reward is given for any house, flat or new build that meets the energy criteria.
