THE battle for the right to represent the St Clement ward on Worcester City Council has always proved an interesting one whatever the year and whatever is going on nationally. The two-member ward has been home to former city council and current leader of Worcestershire County Council Simon Geraghty for a number of years and he is up again for re-election for the Conservatives this time round. Victories in the ward, which he shares with planning chairman and deputy Tory leader Chris Mitchell, have come frequently for Cllr Geraghty with a healthy chunk of the vote and whilst the Conservatives are clear favourites, the wins have not always been as comfortable as he would like.
