“This can be printed on white paper and can be obtained from your insurer – AA insurance does not charge for this service.
“Green cards expire after three months, so drivers should only apply for one close to their date of travel.
“If you are towing a trailer or caravan, you may need an additional green card for this.

Admiral has confirmed green cards are only usually valid for up to 90 days meaning road users may need to apply for a new one before every trip.
