The total contract includes a firm order for 186 Xcelsior CHARGE NG™ heavy-duty transit buses, as well as the option for TTC to purchase up to an additional 435 of the same buses.
The Toronto Transit Commission will receive its first batch of 336 new hybrid-electric buses this month. The additional buses will enter service starting in May and add “significant capacity” to the existing fleet, the commission says.
