“We were turned down by place after place,” Stanfield said. “And yet Aims answered the call and picked up the torch. You all ensured safety and community for a marginalized group … and for that, you will always be remembered.”
“I believe it is vital to have an art piece dedicated to Pride in Greeley because Greeley's LGBTQ+ community is so masked and underrepresented that people do not understand just how many of us there are,” Stanfield said
A first-of-its-kind Pride event in Greeley took place Saturday with overwhelming success and support from community members of all sexual orientations, backgrounds and ages and even a dog or two. Greeley Pride was co-organized by Simone Perry and Andromeda D’Angelo Stanfield with Aims Community College and PFLAG helping to sponsor the event.
The High Plains and Clearview library districts as well as the Loveland Public Library offer a variety of programs and activities for adults, teens and children of all ages. Check out this list of some of the events taking place a local libraries for the week of July 29 to Aug. 4.
