Drift smoke from the Oak Fire near Yosemite National Park in Mariposa County moved into the Sierra Front and western Nevada overnight. The fire remains active with smoke impacts likely to continue. As of Sunday morning, both Gardnerville and Minden s air quality was in the "unhealthy range," according to airnow.gov.
UPDATE: Sierra Front Interagency Dispatch reports Wednesday that the #NumbersFire southeast of Gardnerville has grown to 20,500 acres. The Bureau of Land Management reports a lower figure, 18,000 acres, with 5 percent containment. The recommended evacuations for the Bodie Flats and Pineview areas have been lifted.
High temperatures hovering around 100 degrees has prompted the National Weather Service to extend a heat advisory for the Greater Reno, Carson City, Carson Valley and Lyon County areas until 8 p.m. Sunday night.
The storm pattern for the Carson City area remains active with two more rounds of wind, rain, and Sierra snow this week, one Monday into Tuesday and the other late Wednesday through Friday, according to the National Weather Service.
