Henderson County (May 17, 2022) - One-stop voter turnout in the primary election was high compared to the last off-year election, with 10,876 voters casting ballots in Henderson County, well ahead of the 2018 total of 5,780. The primary election ends today with polls up until 7:30 p.m.

Houses of worship of various faiths are held in special regard by millions of American believers. For many, the church is where families celebrate meaningful milestones like weddings, baby dedications, baptisms, and more. It’s where generations gather together (even virtually, as the pandemic has shown) for encouragement in the toughest of times.
AdventHealth gives COVID vaccines to members of historic African American church on MLK Day

The clinic was set up to provide 30 vaccines to church members age 65 and older.
AdventHealth is the only faith-based, not-for-profit health system in Western North Carolina and is committed to reaching out to community partners, including churches, as it launches its public vaccine opportunities, officials said in a news release.
Partnering with Greater New Zion worked well for this first effort because the health system had an extremely limited number of vaccines available.
AdventHealth Hendersonville Human Resource Business Partner Sharon Campbell explained the goal of bringing this clinic to the church.
