Lafayette police find no evidence to support stabbing victim s claims
LAFAYETTE, Ind. Zhang Lin was not stabbed by a black man, as he told police on March 23, Lafayette police said Thursday.
In fact, Zhang Lin isn t Zhang Lin at all. He actually is Qingyu Lin, police said, who arrested a woman Wednesday. Police suspected her of assisting whoever attacked Qingyu Lin.
As of Thursday, police know Qingyu Lin was stabbed, but nothing he initially told them about the circumstances surrounding the attack is panning out to be truthful. We are not looking for a black male as a suspect, Lafayette police Lt. Randy Sherer said. This was not a random black guy targeting a random Asian guy.
