Holyoke Public Schools close out 2020 with all remote learning, eye hybrid plan rollout in 2021
Updated Dec 22, 2020; All public schools and district offices will be closed until Jan. 3.
The school district heeded the advice of Holyoke Health Director Sean Gonsalves, who recommended shuttering all facilities and switching to all remote learning. Staff will have a “short window” to collect materials and allow essential workers to scrub down and sanitize facilities.
“We have made this decision out of an abundance of caution due to rising cases in the City and with our staff, following guidance from the Holyoke Board of Health and the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education,” Matos said.
