Police have confirmed that two people died as the result of a fire that began early Sunday in the Ryan Heights area.
Greater Sudbury Police said they received a call around 4:45 a.m. from City of Greater Fire Services as crews “were on scene of a structural fire at a residential building on Bruce Avenue.”
The police service determined “there were four individuals inside of the unit where the fire originated,” according to a release.
“One of the individuals, a 37-year-old man was able to escape by jumping from a second-storey window,” police said, but “unfortunately two of the individuals, a 50-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman, were pronounced deceased on scene.”
