Deadly Sudbury fire claims third victim

Greater Sudbury Police said the woman, 33, was airlifted to the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto following the fire on April 11 after she “had sustained critical injuries.”

Police investigating fatal fire; two confirmed deceased

Article content Try refreshing your browser. Police have confirmed that two people died as the result of a fire that began early Sunday in the Ryan Heights area. Greater Sudbury Police said they received a call around 4:45 a.m. from City of Greater Fire Services as crews “were on scene of a structural fire at a residential building on Bruce Avenue.” The police service determined “there were four individuals inside of the unit where the fire originated,” according to a release. “One of the individuals, a 37-year-old man was able to escape by jumping from a second-storey window,” police said, but “unfortunately two of the individuals, a 50-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman, were pronounced deceased on scene.”
