A coronavirus vaccine distribution event had been scheduled at Tabernacle Baptist Church, where she works as an executive assistant. State strike teams were to inoculate 500 people at the West Palm Beach house of worship on Saturday.
But just days before, she and staff at their sister organization, U.B. Kinsey Educational and Community Center, were tasked with fielding phone calls from people frantically seeking the shot and scheduling the hundreds of appointments.
“Right now, I’m overrun,” she told a reporter on Wednesday morning. By the next day, predictably, the appointments were filled.
