For the third “Christmas After Christmas” event, Dr. Rouzbeh Kordestani still wanted to give area children in the foster care system the chance to get new shoes before they go back to school for the spring semester.
However, because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the office had to change the way they approached this year’s event. But with Saturday’s drive-through event, which also included an appearance by Santa Claus, Kordestani and a team of volunteers continued the tradition by providing this service to area foster families.
More than 30 families with the Greater Amarillo Foster Parent Association who reside in towns throughout the Texas Panhandle drove through and picked up gifts from Kordestani’s office, consisting of Shoe Carnival gift cards as well as other holiday goodies.
