Covid-19: Over 80% of target population vaccinated in Accra – G/R Health Directorate LISTEN
MAR 17, 2021
The Greater Accra Regional Health Directorate says it has achieved over 80% of its targeted population in the first phase of the COVID-19 vaccination exercise in the country.
The Region was allocated over 300,000 vaccines for phase one of the exercise.
Though there were some concerns over vaccine scepticism, the acceptance improved during the rollout.
The Greater Accra Regional Health Director, Dr. Charity Sarpong told
Citi News that, “with time the acceptance rate has been good and for the targeted population, once we have been able to cover about 82 percent, we are excited”.
Accra Regional Health Directorate responds to alleged ‘Baby Harvesting’ in some private health facilities Listen to article
The Greater Accra Regional Health Directorate has noted with great concern a joint Press Release issued by the Medical & Dental Council and the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) on the arrest of some Health Personnel reported to have been engaged in the alleged illegal acts of ‘Baby Harvesting and Human Trafficking.’
We want to emphatically state that the alleged acts did not occur in the
Greater Accra Regional
Hospital
(GARH-RIDGE). Though one of the persons mentioned in the alleged illegal acts, Dr. Noah Kofi Lartey works at GARH, the act is alleged to have taken place in his private hospital and not at GARH.
