Great Wall Motors Australia has confirmed the recently launched GWM Ute’s braked towing capacity has officially been increased following its re-homologation.
When the GWM Ute was initially homologated locally, its braked towing capacity was listed as 2250kg, but it’s now 3000kg, putting it on par with another Chinese ute, the LDV T60, but behind the Mitsubishi Triton (3100kg), let alone the Toyota HiLux and Ford Ranger (3500kg).
The GWM Ute’s maximum downball weight has also increased, from 90kg to a more competitive 300kg, as part of its re-homologation.
