A couple were threatened with a gun in a terrifying incident in a kebab shop last night.
Today police said a suspect had been arrested on firearm offences after the woman and man were confronted by an armed man last night.
The victims were threatened inside Great Sutton Pizza and Kebab - a takeaway in Whetsone Hey, Great Sutton around 8pm on Sunday.
Armed police swooped to arrest a 31-year-old suspect in nearby Grace Road in Ellesmere Port around an hour and half later with the road and neighbouring Westminster Road blocked off during the dramatic scenes last night.

Harry Ramsden s at Cheshire Oaks and Hamayuu on Watergate Street, Chester, have submitted applications to Cheshire West and Chester Council to supply alcohol on and off the premises. The application put forward by Deep Blue Restaurants Ltd, the parent company of Harry Ramsden s, also includes having the opening hours as 9am until 10pm, Monday to Sunday. Consultation over the proposals runs until January 15. Hamayuu Ltd is applying for a premises licence to supply alcohol on and off the premises during the proposed opening hours of 10am until 11.30pm, Monday to Sunday.
AN Ellesmere Port pub has applied for a licence to show films during the festive period. The Grace Arms on Stanney Lane has submitted an application to vary its existing premises licence which would allow it to screen movies over Christmas. Owners Greene King confirmed that the Grace Arms had put forward an application to show films over the festive period and that it was awaiting a decision from Cheshire West and Chester Council. The local authority states that people have until December 16 – when the consultation period ends – to have their say on the proposal. The application states that it is for a minor variation to the existing premises licence to add the licensable activity of exhibition of film .
