Lighthouse Theatre increases capacity meaning more seats for more shows
Warrnambool s Lighthouse Theatre is increasing it s capacity, meaning more seats for previously sold out shows.
Lighthouse Theatre Service Manager Xavier Dannock says he is excited the capacity has finally returned to normal levels.
“Whilst the reduced capacity was generally workable, it did mean we were selling out quicker than normal and some people were missing out he said. We now have hundreds of extra tickets across our upcoming events, including shows such as Archie Roach, Bluey’s Big Play, Human Nature and John Williamson, amongst many more”

Safety upgrade set to commence for important Warrnambool roundabout
The roundabout at the intersection of Banyan Street, Merri Street and Pertobe Road in Warrnambool, is in line for safety upgrades to make it safer for motorists, cyclists and pedestrians.
The project is funded via the Federal Government’s Blackspot Program and the Warrnambool City Council.
Warrnambool Mayor Vicki Jellie said that the works would help improve traffic safety at the gateway to Warrnambool’s foreshore.
“The pavement at the intersection is due to be replaced, and we have taken the opportunity to apply for Federal Government funding to cover the majority of the works and make the intersection safer at the same time with a number of other improvements,” she said.
Police Appeal For Witnesses After Alleged Hit Run In Warrnambool
Warrnambool Police are seeking witnesses, to an alleged hit run which occurred within the township on Monday.
The incident occurred at around 6:35pm on Monday the 13th of April, 2021 at the intersection of Banyan Street and Darling Street, Warrnambool.
Police believe a vehicle described as a white utility struck a cyclist and left the scene without stopping to render assistance.
The 17 year old rider suffered non-life threatening injuries including a broken wrist, with police appealing for the driver of the utility to contact Warrnambool Police Station.

Police have also called for anyone with information about the incident, to contact Warrnambool Uniform Police on 5560 1333.
Water samples taken off Port Fairy coast after reports of brown sludge-like substance
DELWP has established an Incident Management Team to respond to reports of a brown sludge-like substance in waters off the coast of Port Fairy.
Water samples are being collected from in and around The Passage, and the samples will be analysed to identify any alteration to water quality.
Drone monitoring will also take place, with an update will be provided to the community once results are available.
Members of the public are advised to avoid direct contact with water in and around The Passage until further notice.

Tehan departs to advance FTA negotiations and vaccine diplomacy
Minister for Wannon Dan Tehan, will this afternoon head overseas, as part of his role as Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment.
Mr Tehan will travel to Europe and the United Kingdom for further Free Trade Agreement (FTA) negotiations, to encourage investment in Australia and to discuss vaccine supply.
His first stop will be Geneva, where he will meet with the World Trade Organization Director-General Okonjo-Iweala.
“Trade creates jobs, it supports economic growth and our standard of living, it promotes international engagement and collaboration and it’s mutually beneficial,” Mr Tehan said.
