A representative from Great Rivers United Way recently spent time at the White House, for the Communities in Action: Building a Better Wisconsin event.
It was part of the Great River United Way’s Annual Day of Caring.
United Way volunteers spread out at nine different locations including the Kane Street Garden.
“It’s great to go ahead and be physically involved and see where their donations go to,” said campaign co-chair Joe Endrizzi.
Meantime, volunteers at The Wafer Food pantry helped sort products and restock shelves.
“It’s just a nice opportunity to give back to the community. I feel very blessed in what I have, and so I want to make sure that we can help out other people in need as well,” said volunteer Julie Kaphingst.
