Councillor Naheen Mather has said there is no excuse for fly-tipping as three men were prosecuted Kirklees Magistrates Court THREE fly-tippers have been investigated and recently prosecuted by Kirklees Council, despite COVID-19 causing some delays and disruption to services and court hearings. Cases first reported to the council as far back as 2019 have been investigated and are now appearing in the courts. Twelve cases originally scheduled for hearings in 2020 had to be rescheduled for 2021. The council has already had three cases in the Kirklees Magistrates Court in January 2021 for fly-tipping related offences. Dewsbury man Tahir Zaman, 49, of Heckmondwike Road, owns land on Caulms Wood Road used by fly-tippers which generated community complaints to the council going back to June 2019.
