Police have confirmed that there was a shooting at Great Mall in Milpitas. Witnesses claim they saw multiple people running and that it was a hectic experience.

Authorities in the San Francisco Bay Area were investigating a shooting that occurred Saturday evening at a shopping mall outside San Jose.
Police said one person was shot near an Old Navy clothing store inside the Great Mall in Milpitas, FOX 2 of the Bay Area reported. The medical condition of the wounded person was not immediately known.
After gunfire was heard, responding officers requested that employees and customers shelter in place as the officers assessed the situation, the Milpitas Police Department wrote in a Twitter message.
MILPITAS, Calif. (KGO) Milpitas police have given the all-clear and say teams have concluded searching the Great Mall after a reported shooting Saturday night.
At 9:36 p.m., officials said everyone who was sheltering in place has been escorted out safely and no one was injured in the shooting.
MPD is currently investigating a shooting at the Great Mall. Out of an abundance of caution we have asked all stores to shelter-in-place while officers continue assessing the situation. The incident was first recorded at 5:23 p.m. the Saturday before Christmas and police alerted shoppers and workers to shelter in place.

MILPITAS, Calif. (AP) - The Milpitas Police Department investigated a shooting Saturday night at a mall, and people temporarily sheltered in place.
The shooting was first reported at 5:32 p.m., KGO-TV reported.
At 8:30 p.m., the department said officers were escorting store employees and shoppers out of the mall. The all clear was given around 9:30 p.m. Police say two people went to the hospital for unrelated medical emergencies during evacuations.
TOP STORIES The Mercury News reported that police did not offer details about the shooting itself, including about any victims and whether a suspect was still at large. But emergency responders were seen transporting one victim on a stretcher from the mall.
