Bracknell rapid testing centres to close FOUR rapid coronavirus testing centres across Bracknell are set to close this month, the council has announced. The decision to close the centres was announced by the Bracknell Forest Council on May 7, claiming that the community centres that the testing sites are based in are looking to reopen for regular groups and events. The four centres are the Morgan Centre, Crowthorne (closing May 13), New Priestwood Community Centre, Bracknell (closing May 14), Brownlow Hall, Warfield (closing May 21), and Sandhurst Community Centre (also closing May 21). Rapid testing will continue to be available at the Great Hollands Pavillion and One Lexicon sites, as the council is continuing to encourage residents to take twice-weekly tests.

Rapid testing site returns to The Meadows, Sandhurst A CORONAVIRUS rapid-testing site has returned to Sandhurst temporarily from this week, due to its popularity with residents. The site, based at The Meadows, Sandhurst, will be in action between 10am and 4pm on Wednesday, April 21, April 28, and May 5. The site is available to residents who aren’t showing symptoms of Covid-19 who want to be tested, and also provides test-at-home kits. Lateral flow testing is available to all adults in England, requiring no prior booking and providing results within 30 minutes of taking the initial test. A spokesman for the Bracknell Forest Council said: Following the popularity of the first mobile rapid testing day at The Meadows, Sandhurst, the mobile site will be returning for a further 3 testing days between 10am and 4pm.

The testing site will be open to residents with no symptoms between 10am and 5pm from April 14. Charlotte Pavitt, Public Health consultant at Bracknell Forest Council, said: “These tests are effective in detecting people that are infectious but have no symptoms and therefore most likely to transmit infection to others, it is important to test regularly even if you have been vaccinated. Covid testing centre closed for two weeks

Bracknell Forest Council warned locals of the changes this week at Brownlow Hall in Warfield. The testing site, for those who are asymptomatic, in County Lane will be closed temporarily for the next two weeks. Officials said it has been forced to close until April 17 as a result of roadworks in the local area. There will also be roadworks ongoing around the Great Hollands Pavillion testing site, that will affect journey times. However, it will remain open and a diversion will be in place directing those heading to the testing site. Anyone requiring asymptomatic testing during this time is asked to travel to other testing sites that are in within the borough.
