Call to join the Great Cumbrian Litter Pick Picture: Lakes Plastic Collective A call has gone out to the public and community litter pick volunteers to rally for the Great Cumbrian Litter Pick. The event, on May 21 and 22, is co-ordinated by conservation charity Friends of the Lake District. A charity spokesman said: “It is an opportunity not only to clear up our county but spread the message ahead of the busy tourist season that everyone who visits should take their litter home with them and leave no trace.” Last year, 40 litter picks took place across Cumbria. This year, 40 litter picks have been registered already.
