GREAT BEND A Great Bend man was arrested Wednesday night after about a 4-mile law enforcement pursuit that ended with the suspect’s vehicle being forced off the road in a cemetery on the north end of town.
During the chase, the driver, whom investigators say was drunk, rammed at least two law enforcement vehicles and swerved at another.
The incident began about 7 p.m. when a Great Bend Police officer stopped a vehicle in the 3300 block of 10th Street for driving without headlights, according to release from Barton County Sheriff Brian Bellendir.
The officer contacted the driver and became aware the driver might be intoxicated.
