Margie Hunter, a Leesburg graphic artist yearned for an outlet during the COVID-age that would utilize her creativity and her empathy. While the rocks look bright and beautiful, it s the words on each of the stones that are inspiring friends and strangers searching for strength.
After a ton of diligent scrubbing, the rocks spend a little time drying in the sun before they get to wear coats of paint. From there, she gets to work in a dining room transformed several months ago into an art studio.
Back in August Hunter started The Kindness Rocks Project in her garden that runs along a popular walking trail in her neighborhood. The installation is located on Graywood Way NE in Leesburg, Virginia.
