COVID spread slowing in Grayson County, health dept. reports 10 new cases since Tuesday

COVID spread slowing in Grayson County, health dept. reports 10 new cases since Tuesday December 16, 2020 The Grayson County Health Department (GCHD) has released a coronavirus update. In announcing 10 new cases of the virus have been confirmed since Tuesday, GCHD Director Josh Embry said, “The speed of transmission has officially slowed.” While Wednesday’s cases give Grayson County 50 (10 per day) cases of the virus confirmed since Friday, and 18 over the last two days, the rate of occurrence has slowed considerably since a troubling November surge bled into December, likely due to Thanksgiving gatherings. To illustrate, between November 1 and December 8, the county recorded 486 cases of the virus (just over 13 per day), equaling 46.2 percent of the total cases confirmed in Grayson County (to that date) since the onset of the pandemic in March.
