Rocky Lombardi, a 25-year-old quarterback completing his seventh and final season, passed and ran for a touchdown on Saturday, and Northern Illinois held on for a 21-19 victory over the Arkansas State Red Wolves in the Camellia Bowl.
Lombardi scored from a yard out with just under five minutes left in the game, and Jacob Finley recovered a fumble in the end zone for a touchdown as time expired to give NIU a 37-27 victory.
Grayson Barnes turned a short pass into a 58-yard touchdown early in the third quarter and Kanon Woodill kicked three field goals in the second half to lift North Illinois to a 23-13 win over Ohio on Saturday.
