Federal wildlife officials have decided not to restore protections for gray wolves across portions of six states, allowing hunting to continue in Idaho, Montana and Wyoming.
A federal judge is expected to rule on a request from two Colorado livestock operators who aimed to temporarily stop this month's gray wolf reintroduction process.
The initial release of gray wolves in Colorado as part of the state's voter-mandated reintroduction effort will begin anytime between Friday and the end of the year.
