Accused shooter put on house arrest Written by Makayla Grijalva on December 18, 2020
Cody McDonald, 33, who was charged last month with the murder of 23-year-old Daniel Murillo, was released to house arrest Wednesday on a $25,000 unsecured bond.
“The bond is set to make your appearance [in court], not to keep you in,” said Sixth Judicial District Attorney Francesca Martinez Estevez. “With violent crimes, they are more careful in setting bonds but that’s the judge’s discretion.”
The prosecutor in the case, Deputy District Attorney Cynthia Clark, told the Daily Press that she had not previously seen a case where an individual is accused of a violent crime such as homicide and is released on an unsecured bond.
