I will never forget hearing about her life, her love of family, belief in youth, joy in gardening, how much she loved living by the pond, and especially her wise advice. Conversations about her faith in God and heaven were priceless, and I look forward to one day seeing her again.

NEGAUNEE, MI – Jeanne Catherine Sandstrom, 80, of Keewaydin St., Negaunee, passed away peacefully Tuesday evening, February 23, 2021, at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility, following a two-year battle with dementia.
Jeanne was born December 17, 1940, in Ishpeming, to Turri and Edith (Olson) Sandstrom, graduated from Negaunee High School, Class of 1958 and was a lifelong area resident. She attended Northern Michigan College and graduated with a two-year medical secretary degree. She soon went to work as a medical secretary for 19 years at Eye Associates of Marquette, and then another 19 years at Hematology/Oncology before retiring. She married, Ronald J. McGlone on March 4, 1988, in a double ceremony with her sister, Anne and Paul Weisel.
When you are from Jersey you have a sense of pride that other states can’t understand. We believe in certain things like loyalty, family, speaking our mind, and of course we believe in really good food. If you’re like me, you either have some Italian running though your blood or if your lucky, you grew up in a neighborhood where the Italian influence was strong. I had both.
