The new toll rate discount model came into effect on 1 July, with the application of a 50 percent reduction along specific stretches of motorways, although electric cars are still not included.
The measure, which is in the State Budget for 2021 (OE2021), determines a 50 percent discount on the toll fee, applicable to each transaction , with effect from Thursday, 1 July, 2021.
The motorway stretches and sub-stretches covered by this measure are those identified in annex i to decree-law no. 67-A/2010, including in the Costa de Prata Concession: A17 - Mira (LC concession)/Aveiro Nascente, A25 - Pirâmides (Aveiro Oeste)/Albergaria (BLA concession), A29 - Angeja/Maceda, A29 - Maceda/(A29/A44); in the Grande Porto Concession: A4

Toll discounts on the A22 motorway have come into force on 11 January, with reductions of between 25 percent and 55 percent, depending on the class of vehicle and the time of the day.
In October, the Government approved, at the Council of Ministers, a 25 percent discount applied since the eighth day of monthly use, for class 1 and 2 vehicles, in certain sections of the A22 - Algarve; A23 - IP; A23 - Beira Interior; A24 - North Interior; A25 - Beiras Litoral and Alta; A28 - North Coast; A4 - AE sub-concession from Trás-os-Montes; A4 - Marão Tunnel; A13 and A13-1 - Sub-concession of Pinhal Interior.
