YORK Minster’s Grand Organ is to be played for the first time in three years following the completion of a £2 million refurbishment. A prayer will be said for the organ during the cathedral’s livestreamed Eucharist service at 11am on Sunday, before it is played at services throughout Lent. It will be dedicated by the Archbishop of York at Evensong on Easter Day, Sunday April 4, and a programme of events to celebrate the organ’s return will be announced later this year. The once-a-century #Organ100 project is now complete!
