Kashmir celebrates Eid-ul-Fitr amid COVID-19 restrictions
No big Eid gatherings were reported from any part of the valley as most of the locals offered Eid prayers at their homes.

Srinagar: Amid upsurge in COVID-19 cases, Kashmiris celebrated a low-key Eid-Ul-Fitr on Thursday as authorities imposed strict restrictions to curb the further spread of the virus.
A large number of troops have been deployed on Srinagar roads and concertina wires have been erected on various roads to restrict civilian movement. The restrictions continue to remain in force across Jammu and Kashmir on the 14th straight day to contain the spread.

Srinagar, Apr 21 (KNO): Jammu and Kashmir’s Grand Mufti Nasir ul-Islam Wednesday fixed Rs 62 as Sadqay-e-Fitr (mandatory charity) per person in the month of Ramadhan and urged people to pay the same till 15th of Ramadhan so that the money reaches needy and destitute amid Covid challenge.
Talking to the news agency Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Grand Mufti appealed to people given the rising cases of Covid-19, poor, destitute and needy aren’t able to move to seek donations. “So, I urge people of Kashmir to pay Sadqay-e-Fitr by 15th of Ramadhan so that the money reaches the needy and destitute well on time. I have fixed Rs 62 as Fitr amount but people must pay
