The Grand Forks Library Board will have to wait until next month to find out the status of its latest member. The city council last night tabled the appointment of Becky Ronkowski until at least April 12th. Mayor Brandon Bochenski has recommended Ronkowski fill the post vacated by Justin Berry.
Council President Dana Sande on KNOX last week stated some members would like more input into the appointment process – and it’s something that will be discussed at a work session on March 29th.
Bochenski says seven people were interviewed for the position and he’s disappointed in the lack of action. “I think it’s insulting…it’s insulting to the mayor’s office and insulting to the person that’s voluntarily running for one of these offices. Frankly vote…or don’t vote…and we’ll move on.”
