Prescribed burn planned in Grand Canyon-Parashant monument

Visitors to the Grand Canyon Skywalk and the North Rim may see smoke later this week from a prescribed burn at Grand Canyon-Parashant National Monument.Crews will begin burning Friday and continue until Sept. 11. They will monitor the area through Sept. 20.Fire managers hope the blaze will reduce fuel loads in the area and help prevent larger blazes from taking place.
