Club president Mike McCurdy and other track officials thought 5000 people might have been on course for the first of two days of Easter racing. They were pleased with on and off course betting totalling $1.8 million. “An excellent day all over, we’re very happy,,” McCurdy said. “It was a great crowd and the [public] car park was totally full.”
