The town of Graham kicked off its Hometown Pride Events with “Friday Night Bites” on June 2. The event is a warmup to the Food Truck Championship of Texas.
This week, Amanda Dulany stepped into the role of manager of the Graham Convention and Visitors Bureau with a goal of bringing new and exciting elements to existing events as well as new experiences to Graham. Originally from Benbrook, Dulany moved to Graham in 2016 with her family. She graduated from the University of North Texas in 2009 with a Bachelor of Social Work. Dulany said she is looking forward to the fast-paced nature of the position as well as making connections within the community to work toward a common goal.
Music will fill the downtown square this summer as the Graham Convention and Visitors Bureau and Graham Concert Association partner for the inaugural Graham Summer Concert Series. Five free concerts will be held starting in June and running every other week until mid-August. The idea for an outdoor concert began with GCA board members Grant Ingram and Brendan Weatherman. Ingram said the two wanted to do a “one-off” concert aside from GCA’s regular concert schedule.
Grant Ingram last week accepted the position as the new Economic Development Director for the City of Graham, moving from his manager position of the Graham Convention and Visitors Bureau. While he said he has a lot to learn about the position, he looks forward to making impactful decisions for the town he calls home.
Ingram was raised in Tyler and graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in hospitality management. He worked at resorts in Wyoming and Graford before taking a position as the Graham CVB manager in May 2019, a position he said is hard to leave.
“It was not an easy decision by any means,” he said. “I’ve enjoyed my position as the manager of the CVB and being able to be involved in bringing tourism to Graham and to Young County, but I believe the Lord is leading me to more responsibility and the chance to have a bigger impact on Graham as a whole in the community.”
