Are you allowed to graffiti Black Lives Matter on your own fence? Not in the City of Sydney, it seems.
Retired music professor Winsome Evans learnt that lesson the hard way when the words she painted on the fence of her Darlington home were removed by the council - not once but five times.

On each occasion, Ms Evans snuck out at midnight to rewrite the phrase - but a few days later it would be scrubbed out again. The pattern played out over about five weeks in August and September.
