OSCODA â Third grade teachers at Richardson Elementary School (RES) began to dig into the life cycle of a chick through some hands-on experiences.Â
The embryology lesson began four years ago, when RES Third Grade Teacher Connie Simpson got in touch with Michigan State University Extension after seeing a post on their Facebook page. She connected with them to see if bringing eggs with baby chicks to her classroom would be possible.Â
After doing the lesson for three years, she decided to get the whole grade involved and encouraged other third grade teachers including, Amy Alda, Jamie MacNeil, Polly Masterson and Amanda Goodman to participate.Â
