The meaning behind Meghan Markle’s bespoke Carolina Herrera dress in pregnancy photo with Harry Naomi May
Never one to miss a chance to capture a moment with her clothes, Meghan Markle wore bespoke Carolina Herrera for the portrait which accompanied hers and Prince Harry’s pregnancy news yesterday.
The floaty, floor-length dress was one of several made especially for the Duchess by the Venezulan-American label during her first pregnancy with Archie, which she has never publicly worn before.
Markle wore the first of the bespoke Herrera pieces during the royal tour of Morocco in 2019, which was an ankle-grazing maxi dress in an azure blue shade.

For the past half century or so, London has been famous around the world as an incubator of quite extraordinary talent in the field of fashion. And every few years the capital comes up with a designer who is the first among equals. And right now that talent is Grace Wales Bonner.
Last year, she won the LVMH Prize, perhaps the most prestigious award for a young designer, with a judging panel that includes Karl Lagerfeld, Riccardo Tisci and Raf Simons. “I never expected to win it,” she says. “I had only entered to have a chance to meet different people and to talk about my work. It was quite amazing the visibility it gave me and it was quite life-changing.”
