from the residence and the hotel room and the business of michael cohen. it takes investigators a long time to look through them and to prepare themselves to begin meeting with michael cohen. i suspect those meetings are underway, but i also wouldn t be surprised if it took another month or two before we heard more from the michael cohen potential cooperation camp. where i see this going, david, is probably it is going to go a little radio silent perhaps around the mid terms, and then i would fully expect bob mueller to ask the grand jury to return a great big conspiracy indictment of everyone that he has accumulated enough evidence of being part of a criminal conspiracy to defraud the united states by undermining the u.s. elections. i think that might be something we see around the first of the year. grace, robert mueller s investigation is one galaxy in this huge universe concerning donald trump. let s step back. you are based here in new york. there is a piece in vanity
the russian back story that manafort is going to be able to provide to the mueller investigative team. and then the other thing that i guess i would comment on is when you look at the two prosecutions, the virginia prosecution and the d.c. prosecution and you realize that there were 25 combined charges, and although manafort was only convicted of eight in virginia and he pled guilty to two in d.c., he actually accepted responsibility for committing the criminal acts that the mueller investigative team detailed in all 25 charges. that is staggering, and they date back to 2006. what that tells us is that mueller s investigation and this prosecution is the opposite of a witch hunt. those who care to be persuaded will realize it is, frankly, one of the most professional and productive investigations that we may have seen ever. grace, glenn is talking about the bridge to russia, one span in moscow, the other ending i suppose in trump tower. i mean a big focus here is on that meeting that
d.c. listen. is it really good between this week s talks between north and south korea and that potential summit between these two men, president trump and kim jong-un? there are some concerns that kim may already be winning the pr war against trump. but as you heard on this show a few minutes ago from the administration s marc short ann maintaining the position of, quote, maximum pressure is the policy until they fully dismantle their nuclear weapons. i m joined by former ambassador to russia and nbc national affairs analyst and back with me the wall street judge s new york 1 s grace rau. i want to start on the state visit because this is important. the symbolism of this, the relationship between presidents trump and macron, i got in a little bit of trouble using the word promance in a briefing related to something else, but it seems like that s what these
the white house is insisting you need 60 votes to pass this thing. that means democrats have to come on board. without any help from the democrats, there s nothing we can do. stephanie. all right, i have to break this down. robert costa, washington post national political reporter and msnbc political analyst. and host of washington week on pbs which i hope you ll watch tonight. ron insana, cnbc contributor. grace rau, a political reporter from new york one. roberto, to you first, what s the president doing to avert this shutdown? do you foresee him? i believe he is going to come in, wearing a cape, flying in, saving the day at the very last moment. just as the markets start to shake in fear, the president will swoop in. the market will recover. and then he can say who s giving all the credit to obama for the rallying market? it s all me. if he s going to be able to get the democrats that come along, stephanie, he has to show some kind of signal. democrats say they ve been
later he dissolves resolution consultants. michael cohen now says trump denies the affair and has produced a printed denial signed by daniels as well. he has not, though, denied making the payment. so why did he pay 130 grand to stormy daniels from a private company in the state of delaware? i want to bring back my panel, ron insana and grace rau. ron, i don t want to get into the details of did they, didn t they. it s stunning enough that a headline like this happens. and it doesn t and it s not the top story. i want to get into why specifically would someone set up a private company to make a payment like this? well, you can shield the identity of the beneficial owner of that corporate that was described by the wall street journal reporter. it s interesting that michael cohen himself actually put his name on as the operator or the person in charge of the company. he didn t have to do that. he could have, in fact, further hid his identity by using another ron jeremy maybe.
