CENTER POINT, Ala. (WBRC) - A Center Point church family settled into their new building Easter Sunday after their old building was nearly destroyed in a fire days before Thanksgiving 2020.
Greater Grace Missionary Baptist Church in Center Point moved into a new church building at 945 Center Point Parkway in Birmingham.
“I’m exuberant. I don’t have words to describe how grateful I am to be here,” said Pastor Lawrence Jackson.
Families in need will be able to get a free box of fresh food for the holidays starting at 10 a.m. Dec. 21 at Grace Missionary Baptist Church, 127 Nora Peebles Drive in Smyrna. We want to make sure that no one goes hungry and that every family in need has enough food to feed their families through this pandemic, said church minister Tabitha Stewart.
The giveaway of 1,200 food boxes is a partnership between Mount Gilead Missionary Baptist Church and the USDA s Farmers to Families distribution program through church s community outreach.
The food box will include 10 pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables, five to six pounds of dairy products and meats, and a gallon of milk. The approximate value is around $50.
