The No. 6 Tennessee Softball team beat No. 17 Kentucky 10-2 in six innings Saturday to secure the series thanks to a six-hit offensive performance and 4.1 innings in the circle from Karlyn Pickens.
Grace Lorsung went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a two-run, two-out RBI double in the top of the first inning as No. 16 Kentucky held on to beat Ole Miss 7-5 and secure the series title Saturday night at the Ole Miss Softball Complex in Oxford.
Grace Lorsung set a new school record with seven runs batted in for a single game with seven and Kayla Kowalik broke the school record with her 455th career total base, but the No. 11 Kentucky Softball team lost both games of a doubleheader, 14-13 and 10-0 against Texas A&M.
A five-run seventh inning, including two home runs propelled Texas A&M past Kentucky, 14-13, in game one, followed by the Aggies run-ruling the Wildcats, 10-0, in game two, in Saturday’s doubleheader at John Cropp Stadium.
