Nagaland: Dr Liezietsu seeks collective effort to develop Tenyidie

KOHIMA Coinciding with the culmination of Ura Academy (UA) 53rd Tenyidie annual seminar, awards were also given away to meritorious students during a programme held at Ura Academy Hall in Mission Compound, Kohima, on Friday. Delivering the presidential speech at valedictory programme, Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu, has termed language as one of the greatest assets of culture and called for collective efforts to preserve and develop the same. Viewing that changes are happening in all phases of life, Dr. Liezietsu stated that Tenyidie language remain unchanged and added that unceasing efforts have been made all these years to upkeep and promote the same. Nagaland tests preparedness on disaster - Eastern Mirror

Dimapur, Nov. 17 (EMN): Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) under Home department conducted the Nagaland Emergency Preparedness Exercise (NEPEx), a state-wide mega mock exercise, on November 17. The exercise was conducted simulating an earthquake scenario with a magnitude of 8.7 on the Richter scale. The exercise was carried out to test the capability of the state to respond and also manage any mega-disaster, a DIPR report stated. Mon: In Mon, an incident response team for the exercise was instituted with the deputy commissioner of Mon, Ajit Kumar Verma, as the responsible officer and the ADC of Mon, Y Chingyak Konyak, as the incident commander. A living language should keep developing, says Dr Shürhozelie Liezietsu

Our Correspondent Kohima, May 27 (EMN): The President of Ura Academy, Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu on Friday said that a living language should keep developing, adding that Tenyidie is one of such language, while urging the fraternity of Ura Academy to strategise on how Tenyidie speakers could expand. He was addressing the valedictory function of 52nd seminar of Ura Academy (premier institution of Tenyidie language) at Ura Academy Hall in Kohima on May 27. Dr.  Lieizietsu said that Tenyidie literature board has now achieved a milestone of 83 years and after rechristening it to Ura Academy, it had completed 51 years, while it has been 25 years since the introduction of Tenyidie into Nagaland University.
