Detroit nonprofits serving BIPOC communities to share $11 million in support
Builds on $2.7 million in commitments from Ford, Kresge last year
Will support work of nearly 30 organizations this year

A fund launched last year to support Detroit organizations led by Black, indigenous and people of color or serving communities of color has attracted $11 million in new grants.
The Community Development Organization Fund of housing nonprofit Enterprise Community Partners launched in 2020 with a $2.7 million commitment from the Troy-based Kresge Foundation and New York-based Ford Foundation.
The CDO Fund builds on a three-year, $3 million Kresge effort that funded 21 community development organizations in 2017.
