we have got 250,000 patients per one gp so demand is huge. giving a telephone line is ok but who is going to man those telephone lines, where are the receptionist? receptionists are leaving because of high frustrations and the abuse that some of our front of house colleagues face. i m hearing some horror stories over the whole of the uk, some colleagues are sharing their stories, theyjust don t want to stay on the job. that is where fundamentally we also need to be looking at other things other than just technology because we are really tired in general practice. it s a tricky moment. perhaps if you have been on hold waiting to speak to receptionist at your gp surgery, desperate to make an appointment for yourself orfor a loved one, what is yourself orfor a loved one, what is your advice to people who are in that situation, may be getting quite stressed about it, talking to a receptionist on the other end who is also very stressed, what is your guidance to us? also very stressed, what

will have, becausejunior cannot underestimate the impact this will have, because junior doctors work across the nhs. we do have trainee gps who are considered junior doctors. junior doctors are anybody who does not at consultant level or senior gp level, so that could be for up to ten years, so in fact gp practices are going to be impacted if a trainee doctor is a member of the bma and has said they re going to strike, supplements will be impacted in terms of access to the appointment you might have at the gp surgery. i completely support myjunior doctors were striking, because it is something i think has been going on for a very long time, and it is impacting mental well being, morale, burn out, and junior doctors are leaving the health care system because they are the bloodline of the nhs and are functioning. so if somebody wakes up this morning and wants to make an appointment at the gp surgery, there
several roads and in aberdeen, scaffolding was blown from these high rise flats. storm otto has passed but it did cause some significant disruption. the gp surgery is closed, the pharmacy here is closed and all the shops remain shut because there is just no power. storm otto was not on the same scale as the storm a year ago, but it will take some time for all the power to be restored and the damage to be fixed. this is ellon academy in aberdeenshire, one of the many schools that were closed today. now the weather is quite calm and as heirs of 4.30, we were told 27,000 customers had their electricity restored. 16,000 customers have still, they are still waiting to have their electricity reconnected
