‘Always full of life,’ friend mourns 30-year-old woman killed in Gowanus crash

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. A friend of the 30-year-old woman who tragically lost her life in a car crash on the Gowanus Expressway this week described her as “always full of life” and “such a beautiful soul.”
Emergency medical crews responded at about 11:20 p.m. to 911 calls reporting a crash in the Staten-Island bound lanes of the Gowanus Expressway near the 92nd Street exit, according to a statement by the NYPD.
2 taken to hospital from crash on Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. A crash sent two people to the hospital and all lanes of the approach to the upper level of the Staten Island-bound Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge are blocked during the emergency response on Wednesday morning.
The incident was reported at about 9:50 a.m. at 92nd Street and the Gowanus Expressway on the approach to the bridge.
Two people were transported to Staten Island University Hospital in Ocean Breeze and a third person refused medical attention, according to a spokesman for the FDNY/EMS.
The lower level remains open, according to the MTA alert posted shortly before 10 a.m.
